6, 7 or 9 blades – what pays off on your area?
All three versions fit identically on H500E, H800E and H1500E. The difference lies in the number of cuts per revolution: More blades hit each blade of grass more often and break up the cuttings more finely. The larger your area, the more clearly this difference adds up over the season.
The direct 1:1 replacement for the worn disc, as the only version with surrounding protection: It covers the screw connection and guides the Klingen cleanly. The first choice if you don’t want to change the cut pattern of your Navimow, but only restore it.
One more cut per revolution – you’ll notice it when, after rainy days, grass has grown in strongly. The mowing disc is designed flat; the blades sit freely on the top. The middle path between factory condition and fine cutting.
Nine blades break down the clippings so finely that they disappear during mulching between the blades – the most visible difference on large lawns. Also a flatter mowing disc without protection, with maximum cutting density per revolution.
Large areas work differently
A Navimow H1500E is built for properties where a manual lawnmower would take up an entire afternoon. Accordingly, it runs: longer cycles, more operating hours, and significantly more meters per season than a robotic lawnmower on a small row-house plot.
Every one of those meters goes through the same six, seven, or nine blades. Wear and tear on the H-series is therefore not a matter of bad luck, but simply a matter of the area covered – and it arrives earlier than many expect.
Think it through: a cutting disc costs only a fraction of what a season of lawn care on this area otherwise ties up in time and money. Dull blades, on the other hand, cost a little every day – in cutting quality, in runtime, and in the load on the mowing motor, which has to work against the resistance.
The disc is delivered fully equipped and fits the mounting of H500E, H800E and H1500E – without adapters, without adjustment, without setup work.
From the first cut to storage
The season of a Navimow starts in March and often doesn’t end until October. During this time, the robotic lawnmower drives through morning dew, through summer dryness, through damp autumn leaves – and in each of these conditions, the cutting system works under different circumstances.
Wet cuttings stick to the mowing disc and slow down rotation; dry, tough stems dull the cutting edges faster. If the Navimow starts to tear stems out rather than separating them, if cutting edges fray and turn brown, or if individual stems are left behind, it’s time for a fresh disc.
The replacement itself keeps no one waiting: switch off the robotic lawnmower, carefully tilt it, remove the old cutting disc, and attach the new one – without a screwdriver, without a toolbox. Since the blades are already mounted, fastening the individual blades is completely unnecessary.
Practical for large gardens is the intermediate check: after contact with branches, stones, or fallen fruit, it’s worth taking a quick look at the mowing disc. And the same applies before storing it in winter – clean it, check for nicks and impact marks, and store it dry. Then the next season starts without any surprises.

Assembly is quite simple on my navimow h800e; the guard around the disc prevents the clippings from getting thrown around. It cuts cleanly and I have fewer issues when the grass is a bit dense, with the 6 blades. Small downside: it’s slightly heavier than the old part, so the change requires a bit of care.
I installed the replacement disc on my Segway Navimow H500E in about 15–20 minutes, and it lined up well with the existing screws. The set comes with 6 blades and they run evenly, even when the grass is a bit wet; the protective guard does help with reduced buildup. Only downside: the guard is slightly awkward to seat at first.

1. General Safety Instructions
- The operator is responsible for accidents, injuries, and damages caused to other persons or their property.

- Always turn off the robotic mower completely before performing work on the cutting disc or the knives.

2. Required Tools and Materials

3. Preparation
- Stop the robotic mower completely.

4. Disassembly of the Existing Cutting Disc
- Loosen the fastening screws of the existing cutting disc.
- Completely remove the screws and set them aside safely.
- Carefully remove the existing cutting disc from the knife holder.
- Clean the knife holder of grass clippings, dirt, and debris.
- Check the knife holder for damage or unusual wear.
Warning
Do not use the new cutting disc if the knife holder, fastening points,
threads, or screws are damaged. In this case, the robotic mower may only be reused after proper
inspection.
5. Installation of the CUT GUARD Cutting Disc
- Place the CUT GUARD cutting disc correctly on the knife holder.
- Ensure that the cutting disc lies flat and is correctly centered.
- Insert the appropriate fastening screws.
- Tighten the screws evenly and firmly.
- Do not overtighten the screws to avoid damage to threads or components.
- After installation, check that the cutting disc is securely attached.
- Gently turn the cutting disc by hand and check if it runs freely.
6. Installation or Replacement of Replacement Blades
- Loosen the screws of the old blades.

Does a cutting disc fit all three models – H500E, H800E and H1500E?
Yes. The Navimow H-series models share the same mowing disc mount, so each version of this disc fits on the H500E, the H800E and the H1500E without an adapter. If you later switch within the series to a larger model, you can simply continue using replacement discs and blade stock. However, before ordering, please compare the design of your existing disc.
Do all three variants have the protective cover?
No – only the 6-blade version has the surrounding protective cover. It covers the screw connection and supports controlled blade guidance. The 7-blade and 9-blade discs are built as flat mowing discs, with the blades screwed freely on the top side. If the protective cover is important to you, choose the 6-blade version.
How often do I need to replace the cutting disc on a large lawn?
Wear is not determined by the calendar, but by the square meters actually mowed. An H1500E on a large property travels significantly more meters per week than a robot on a small area—accordingly, blades and discs reach their service life limit earlier. Follow the cut pattern: once blades are torn out instead of being cleanly cut, it’s time to replace them.
Which number of blades is most worthwhile on a large area?
The 6-blade variant is a 1:1 replacement for the factory condition. With 7 blades, every blade of grass is cut once more per revolution, which is especially noticeable with vigorous growth after rainy days. The 9-blade variant delivers the finest cutting pattern and the best mulching performance—and this difference is most clearly visible on large, contiguous lawn areas.
Do I need tools to change it?
No. Switch off the robotic mower, carefully tilt it, remove the old disc, and attach the new one—no screwdriver is needed. Since the blades are already pre-assembled, there’s also no need to screw in the individual blades. The complete swap takes only a few minutes; after that, the Navimow immediately returns to its mowing schedule.
Does the mowing disc come to me with blades already installed?
Yes. Each disc is delivered pre-equipped—the 6-blade variant with 6, the 7-blade variant with 7, and the 9-blade variant with 9 already mounted blades. You don’t need to screw anything in individually; the disc is ready to use straight out of the packaging.
Does the 60-blade set pay off for an area like the H1500E?
Especially for large mowing areas and long seasons. If you run an H800E or H1500E for several months, you’ll noticeably use more blades—and nobody wants to wait for a delivery in May and June, when the grass grows the most. With the 60-blade set, you have replenishment at home and pay less than with later individual purchases.
